Description
With 438 notes in about 48 seconds, this intermediate dance in A minor and triple meter is among the denser pieces of the third part. It is No. 6 of the third part of Traditioner af Swenska Folk-Dansar, a collection that arranges Swedish folk dances for the piano; the composers are not known.
The range runs from C2 in the bass to F5, wide on the low side and modest at the top. The left hand spends much of its time in the bass, which gives the sound some weight. At over nine notes per second, the music flows on with hardly a break.
Keeping the tempo steady to the end calls for stable fingering. Start by lowering the playback speed to check the left hand's moves from bass notes to chords. Use the hand colours to find the places where the two hands come close, and repeat just those with the A-B loop so the overall flow holds together.
