Description
Just a plain melody over a simple accompaniment in E minor and triple time, this beginner piece of 27 seconds and 130 notes is one of the shortest in the collection. It is No. 13 of the third part of Traditioner af Swenska Folk-Dansar, Swedish folk dances arranged for piano whose tunes have no known author, and like No. 15, also 27 seconds long, it suits a first piece in the third part.
It is in E minor and triple meter. The range covers exactly three octaves, from G2 to G5. With fewer than five notes per second, it has the sound of Nordic folk song.
With its low difficulty and small note count, it is just the right length for reading practice. Listen while following the notes in the score view, then lower the playback speed and try each hand separately. Check how the work is shared between the hands with the hand colours, and loop the whole piece a few times with the A-B loop; you will soon be able to play it through. It sits comfortably on a 61-key keyboard. Remember the single sharp, F-sharp, in the key signature.
A broad collection of standalone piano pieces not belonging to any specific set, offering hundreds of varied character pieces to explore and compare.
