Long dotted notes set against quick sixteenths give this short D minor dance, about thirty-eight seconds long, its lilt. It is No. 12 in the first part of Traditioner af Swenska Folk-Dansar. That collection, issued in Sweden in the early nineteenth century, preserves dance melodies from various regions in a form a keyboard player can use, without naming their makers.

The right hand mixes quarter notes and sixteenths, while the left hand moves in eighth notes with longer dotted quarter notes set among them. The range runs from a low D2 up to G5 in the right hand.
