Description
Busy right-hand sixteenths heard clearly at a settled tempo, and a bass that drops to B-flat 1, mark this B-flat major dance of about eighty-three seconds. No. 33 is a fairly long piece from the first part of Traditioner af Swenska Folk-Dansar. That Swedish collection, issued in the early nineteenth century, sets down for keyboard the dance tunes of various regions, whose makers are not known.
In B-flat major and 3/4. The MIDI is set at a settled quarter note of 80. The right hand moves busily in sixteenths and eighths and reaches C6. The left-hand accompaniment mixes eighth notes with longer dotted quarters, and goes down as far as B-flat 1. At this unhurried tempo, the fine right-hand figures can be heard clearly.
It is rated intermediate, with 551 notes in 83 seconds. The tempo is unhurried, but the many right-hand sixteenths call for care to keep them even. Hold the left-hand dotted quarters for their full value so the change of rhythm in the accompaniment is clear. Note that the low B-flat 1 lies below a 61-key keyboard (C2 to C7), so on one an octave shift is needed. Practise section by section with the A-B loop and check both hands' movements in the hand colours.
