Yes, Visual Piano is completely free. No registration required - just upload a MIDI file and start using it right away.
What MIDI files are supported?+
Standard MIDI files (.mid, .midi) are supported. Piano MIDI files are recommended, but other instrument MIDI files can also be played with piano sounds.
Can I adjust the playback speed?+
Yes, you can adjust from 0.25x to 2x speed. Practice difficult sections slowly or challenge yourself at faster tempos.
Can I practice with sheet music?+
Yes. Preset pieces that come with a score have a "Show sheet music" switch in the player, so you can read the staff instead of the falling notes. The notes being heard light up as it plays, with the current measure and playback position marked, so you can practice reading as well.
Does it work on smartphones?+
Yes, it works on smartphone and tablet browsers.
Can I connect a MIDI keyboard to practice?+
Yes, you can connect a MIDI keyboard using a browser that supports the Web MIDI API (such as Chrome or Edge) and use Practice Mode to play along. The app waits for you to press the correct keys, so you can practice at your own pace.
Are uploaded MIDI files stored on the server?+
No, uploaded MIDI files are processed entirely within your browser and are never sent to the server. The operator has no access to your file contents, so you can use the service with confidence.
How many preset songs are available?+
Over 1,400 classical piano pieces are available as presets, including works by Bach, Chopin, Beethoven, and many more. You can start practicing right away without preparing your own MIDI files.
Is there a section repeat (A-B loop) feature?+
Yes, you can specify a loop range in the settings to repeatedly practice a specific section. This is useful for focused practice on difficult passages.
Do I need to register or log in?+
No, registration or login is not required at all. Simply visit the site and you can immediately use all features.
Where can I get MIDI files?+
We recommend trying the preset songs first. If you want to use your own MIDI files, you can export them from music notation software (such as MuseScore) or download them from MIDI file distribution sites on the internet.
