Description
Both hands share the same springing dotted rhythm in this F major dance, so the left hand moves in step with the tune rather than simply accompanying it. No. 15 is in the same key as No. 9 but quite different in character, and lasts about fifty-eight seconds. It is drawn from the first part of Traditioner af Swenska Folk-Dansar, published in Sweden in the early nineteenth century as keyboard settings of folk dance tunes by unknown makers.
In F major and 3/4. Both hands move mainly in quarter notes and dotted eighth plus sixteenth figures, sharing the same rhythmic pattern, and the left hand includes three-note chords. Where No. 9 moved busily in eighths and sixteenths, this one springs along on the dotted rhythm. The range runs from B-flat 2 to F5.
It is rated intermediate, with 392 notes in 58 seconds. Because the two hands share the dotted rhythm, any misalignment between them is plainly audible. Keep the left-hand chords light except on the strong beat so they do not weigh the dance down. Taking one phrase at a time with the A-B loop and a slower playback speed lets you match the hands' timing while keeping the rhythm buoyant.
