Typical of the third part in length and difficulty, this well-rounded dance is in G major and triple meter. It is No. 23 of the third part of Traditioner af Swenska Folk-Dansar, an intermediate piece of 44 seconds with 382 notes. The collection sets dances handed down in Sweden for the piano, and the composers are not known.
Several pieces in the third part are in G minor, while this one is in the major key on the same tonic. The range runs from G2 to A5, and at nearly nine notes per second a light tempo and bouncing step carry on throughout. With one sharp, F-sharp, in the key, it is not hard to read.
To keep it light, make the downbeat clear without letting the other beats grow heavy. Lower the playback speed to check how the first beat differs from the second and third, then bring the speed back up while repeating sections with the A-B loop. Looking at the pattern of the left-hand accompaniment in the hand colours shows how the bouncing rhythm works. It is also interesting to compare it with a G-minor piece such as No. 2.
