Description
The fugue from Book II No. 2 is written in four voices in C minor. Tension builds each time the subject passes through a new voice, producing a deeply introspective effect. Though rated intermediate, achieving real clarity among the four voices requires conscious independence of finger control for each line.
Bach's collection of preludes and fugues for keyboard, covering all 24 keys and regarded as the summit of contrapuntal writing.
