Description
The second prelude of Book I turns from the opening's C major to the taut urgency of C minor. Restless sixteenth-note arpeggios drive continuously through a compact span, packing a high note density into a short duration. Marked advanced, it demands even finger technique to keep the figuration steady at speed.
Bach's collection of preludes and fugues for keyboard, covering all 24 keys and regarded as the summit of contrapuntal writing.
