Description
A solo piano arrangement of a choral setting of Psalm 23, "The Lord Is My Shepherd." Originally written for women's chorus, it unfolds through overlapping melodic lines full of praise and serenity. Running over five minutes with roughly 3,096 notes, its length and density call for careful voicing to bring out the original's layered choral texture on a single piano; this advanced-level piece rewards a performer who can keep multiple melodic lines distinct and clear.
A broad collection of standalone piano pieces not belonging to any specific set, offering hundreds of varied character pieces to explore and compare.

About the Composer
Franz Schubert (1797-1828)
Franz Schubert was a Vienna-born composer who died at only 31 but left behind a vast body of work, especially in the field of Lieder. Known for his gift for melody and subtle modulation, songs such as "Erlkonig" remain widely performed today. His piano works, including the Impromptus, are equally rich in lyricism. This site includes 120 of his works, such as Impromptus, "Erlkonig," and the "Hungarian Melody."
