Description
Known by the nickname "Lebensstürme" ("Life's Storms"), this Allegro in A minor was written in 1828, the final year of Schubert's life, originally conceived for piano four hands. Its turbulent character, driven by forceful repeated chords and a stormy sense of momentum, gives the piece its name. Running over eleven minutes with more than eleven thousand notes, it demands considerable stamina and focus to sustain its dramatic intensity.
