Description
The second of the Three Military Marches, contrasting with the brightness of No. 1 through its minor-key coloring and more dramatic tension. Also originally written for piano four hands, it runs a little over four minutes with roughly 4,367 notes, weaving shifting emotional expression into a steady march rhythm. An intermediate-level piece, how it shades the particular darkness of its minor key strongly affects the overall impression it leaves.

Franz Schubert (1797-1828)
Franz Schubert was a Vienna-born composer who died at only 31 but left behind a vast body of work, especially in the field of Lieder.
