Description
This slow movement of Sonata No. 25 sets a simple, quietly sung melody over a gently rocking accompaniment reminiscent of a barcarolle. Brief in duration, it offers a calm, unhurried tone full of quiet character, serving as a moment of repose between the sonata's two faster movements. With relatively few notes packed into about two minutes, it lets less advanced players focus on expression rather than technique.
