Description
This is the first movement of Beethoven's Op. 2 No. 1, the first sonata in his debut set of three, dedicated to Haydn. The rising theme in F minor carries an urgent, taut character typical of the key. While the movement follows Classical sonata form, its bold dynamic contrasts and sustained length already reveal the young composer's fiery temperament.
