Description
Subtitled a 'Christian ballet' and co-written with the poet Contamine de Latour, this work dates from Satie's mystically inclined period around his Rosicrucian associations. It runs relatively long but uses a modest number of notes, favoring solemnity over density. Sustaining its grave atmosphere over its length requires patience and controlled restraint even at an intermediate technical level.
