Dating from around 1742, this G minor sonata carries a shadowy character. Despite lasting only about two and a half minutes, it crams in over 2,000 notes in an unbroken stream of motion. With Scarlatti's characteristic repeated figures and sudden leaps, it demands intense concentration and hand flexibility within a short span, marking it as an advanced-level piece.

Domenico Scarlatti (1685-1757)
Domenico Scarlatti was born in Naples and spent the latter part of his life at the Spanish and Portuguese courts. Born in the same year as Bach and Handel, he is renowned for his 555 single-movement keyboard sonatas, notable for their bold leaps and incorporation of Spanish dance idioms.
