Description
Placed near the end of Partita No.5, this movement is written in an elegant triple meter, as its title "in the tempo of a minuet" suggests. Relatively approachable within the suite, it rewards attention to the light, dance-like sense of pulse.
Suite-form works from the Baroque era; Bach's Partitas, a sequence of varied dances, are ranked among the greatest keyboard works.
