Description
Partita No.1 includes two contrasting minuets, both performed in sequence within this movement. Offering a lighter, more relaxed moment within the suite, it is technically less demanding than the surrounding movements but still calls for graceful phrasing within its triple meter.
Suite-form works from the Baroque era; Bach's Partitas, a sequence of varied dances, are ranked among the greatest keyboard works.
