Description
The Corrente of Partita No.5. Set against the brightness of G major, it is an energetic movement of continuously running fast notes. It calls for the forward momentum typical of the Italian-style Corrente, along with smooth coordination as the melodic line passes between the hands.
Suite-form works from the Baroque era; Bach's Partitas, a sequence of varied dances, are ranked among the greatest keyboard works.
