Description
The Passepied from Partita No.5. A lively dance of French origin, it moves more lightly than the suite's other movements. Though of moderate difficulty, capturing the Passepied's characteristic bouncing rhythm is the key to an idiomatic performance.
Suite-form works from the Baroque era; Bach's Partitas, a sequence of varied dances, are ranked among the greatest keyboard works.
