The third movement of Partita No.1. True to the Italian-style Corrente, it consists of an unbroken stream of fast triple-meter notes. Packing 833 notes into just 101 seconds, it is a technically demanding movement that calls for relentless forward motion and evenness of touch.
Suite-form works from the Baroque era; Bach's Partitas, a sequence of varied dances, are ranked among the greatest keyboard works.
