Description
The fifth piece of the Album for the Young, "Little Piece." Within its short, simple structure, it condenses an approachable, characteristically Schumannesque phrase. Running under a minute and a half with only around 279 notes, the technical demands are light and the piece is easy to bring to completion. It offers beginners a gentle introduction to musical expressiveness, and the real task is drawing out as much expressive color as possible from so few notes.
A collection of 43 piano pieces Schumann gave to his daughter Marie for her seventh birthday — musically rich works enjoyable for children and adults alike.
