With the second part, For Older Children, the music moves more and covers a wider expressive range. Echoes from the Theatre, No. 25, is one of these pieces, seeming to recreate from a child's perspective the lingering impression of music heard at the theatre. It belongs to Schumann's 1848 Album for the Young, Op. 68.

In A minor and 2/4, brilliant passagework alternates with expressive melody, creating dramatic swells reminiscent of an operatic scene. It lasts about a minute and forty seconds with 1,086 notes, over a thousand packed into a short span. Its range runs from E2 to C6, within a 61-key keyboard.
