Description
The third piece of the Album for the Young, "Humming Song." An intimate, hummable melody flows smoothly, calling for calm legato playing. Running about a minute and a half with only around 277 notes, its spacing between notes is unhurried. Free of flashy technique, it is a small piece that also serves beginners well as a way to develop smooth, connected finger movement.
A collection of 43 piano pieces Schumann gave to his daughter Marie for her seventh birthday — musically rich works enjoyable for children and adults alike.
