Description
This E-flat major sonata has an unusual structure, opening with a slow movement instead of the customary fast one. The movements that follow include a graceful minuet and a lively finale, making effective use of contrast between stillness and motion. At around twelve minutes and just over 4,800 notes, it tests both a singing touch in the slow movement and precise fingerwork in the faster ones.
