Description
The second sonata in the early Salzburg set, this F major work makes effective use of contrasts in tempo and mood within its gentle overall character. Its second movement carries a somewhat melancholic tone, showing the range of expression already present in the young Mozart. At around fourteen minutes and close to eight thousand notes, it calls for an elegant touch combined with natural phrasing.
