Description
The 15 Variations and Fugue on an Original Theme in E-flat major, Op.35, is known as the "Eroica Variations" because its theme anticipates the finale of the Symphony No.3 "Eroica." The work begins unusually with the bass line alone, then unfolds through fifteen contrasting variations before closing in a grand fugue, showcasing Beethoven's mature command of variation technique.
