Description
Based on a march by the composer Dressler, this variation set is considered Beethoven's earliest known composition. Written in Bonn in 1782 while he was still in his early teens, it already shows glimpses of his later gifts in the way the march's steady rhythm is reshaped into a variety of figurations.
