Description

Ballszenen ("Ball Scenes") is a set of character pieces evoking the atmosphere of a formal ball, drawing on dance types such as waltzes and polonaises. Compared to Schumann's earlier, more fantastical works, this later piece favors clearer forms and accessible, dance-driven rhythms. Capturing the buoyant rhythmic character of each dance is central to a convincing performance.

A broad collection of standalone piano pieces not belonging to any specific set, offering hundreds of varied character pieces to explore and compare.
