Description
This piece opens the collection of Three-Part Sinfonias, compiled around 1723. It builds on the contrapuntal technique developed in the two-part Inventions by adding a third voice, with all three lines moving vividly within the clear sound of C major. At just over a minute, it serves as an accessible entry point into more complex polyphony.
