Description

This is one of the most widely recognized minuets in classical music, found in the Notebook for Anna Magdalena Bach. Although long attributed to Bach, it is now believed to be the work of Christian Petzold. Its simple, memorable melody has made it a staple of piano method books around the world.

The minuet, an elegant triple-time dance popular in the Baroque era, evoking the refined atmosphere of a courtly ball.
