Description
This is one of Schumann's most widely recognized melodies. True to its title, "Dreaming," a slow, singing theme returns repeatedly, taking on a slightly different nostalgic color each time. With only 339 notes, it leaves considerable room for expressive rubato and breathing between phrases.
A suite of 13 pieces Schumann composed in 1838, including "Träumerei," evoking an adult's poetic recollection of childhood.
