Description
Begun in 1817 but left unfinished, this F-sharp minor sonata survives only in part. At around seven minutes and just under three thousand notes, it is modest in scale, yet concentrates the sharp tension characteristic of the key within its limited material. Despite its fragmentary form, it demands the technique to handle its dense harmonic writing precisely, suiting advanced players.

Franz Schubert (1797-1828)
Franz Schubert was a Vienna-born composer who died at only 31 but left behind a vast body of work, especially in the field of Lieder.
