Composed around 1819, this three-movement sonata is among Schubert's earliest surviving complete piano sonatas. Rather than dramatic conflict, it favors warm, song-like melodies delivered with an easy, sunny lyricism typical of the young composer. Running over twenty minutes, it requires sustained concentration to perform but rewards listeners with some of Schubert's most immediately appealing melodic writing.

Franz Schubert (1797-1828)
Franz Schubert was a Vienna-born composer who died at only 31 but left behind a vast body of work, especially in the field of Lieder.
