Description
Written in 1815 when Schubert was just eighteen, this is one of his earliest surviving sonatas. Its balanced structure still shows the strong influence of Haydn and Beethoven's classical models, though hints of the singing melodic style he would later develop already appear. With over thirteen thousand notes and a duration approaching twenty minutes, it remains technically demanding despite its youthful origins, suiting advanced players.
