Description
Believed to date from around 1823, this brief sonata movement survives as a single short fragment. Lasting under a minute with only a few hundred notes, it is among the smallest pieces in this collection. Compact as it is, it still conveys the melancholy character typical of the E minor key, offering a glimpse into one of Schubert's unfinished sonata attempts.

Franz Schubert (1797-1828)
Franz Schubert was a Vienna-born composer who died at only 31 but left behind a vast body of work, especially in the field of Lieder.
