Description
No. 29 comes from Op. 337 by Czerny, teacher of Liszt and student of Beethoven. Its 1,105 notes over 43 seconds form a dense stream of figuration that tests nimble, uninterrupted fingerwork. Playing it before diving into more demanding repertoire also makes for an effective warm-up. Though rated intermediate, it calls for sustained concentration to bring off cleanly.
Forty intermediate-level daily studies by Czerny, suited for everyday practice of a variety of techniques.
