Description
The thirteenth prelude, in F-sharp major, unfolds at a leisurely tempo, its melody floating gently above the accompaniment. A more restless, metrically unsettled middle section intervenes before the calm opening theme returns, making this two-and-a-half-minute piece a quiet, poetic one overall.

About the Composer
Frédéric Chopin (1810-1849)

He poured his longing for his homeland into mazurkas and polonaises, while his ballades and etudes combine poetic melody with harmonic innovation.
