Description
No.5 is a larger-scale study at 66 seconds and 1,330 notes. The extended length tests stamina as much as speed, requiring the player to maintain an even touch without fatigue. It likely sustains a repeating figure over its length, making it a practical exercise in sustained concentration.
Forty studies by Czerny that build the technique for fast passagework, developing finger independence and agility.
