Description
No.12 is one of the more expansive studies in the set, running 110 seconds with 2,376 notes. Sustaining even, rapid passagework over such a stretch requires managing fatigue in the wrist and forearm as much as the fingers. Though Czerny's studies are sometimes dismissed as dry, a piece of this length makes sound sense as physical preparation for concert repertoire.
Forty studies by Czerny that build the technique for fast passagework, developing finger independence and agility.
