Description

This G major minuet has an approachable, friendly character, marked by lively dotted rhythms throughout its triple-meter dance form. At about a minute and a half with 432 notes, it is compact in scope, useful for practicing ornamentation and steady tempo, and suitable as an early piece for keyboard students at the intermediate level.

The minuet, an elegant triple-time dance popular in the Baroque era, evoking the refined atmosphere of a courtly ball.

Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750)
