Description
This finale movement comes from the second of Diabelli's six pedagogical Sonatinas, Jugendfreuden, Op. 163. Though written mainly for students, this movement calls for finger independence and agility through its brisk runs and leaps. Within a clear Classical form, an energetic melodic line builds toward a spirited conclusion.

Anton Diabelli (1781-1858)
Anton Diabelli (1781-1858) was an Austrian composer and music publisher. He is best remembered for the waltz theme that inspired Beethoven's monumental Diabelli Variations. Diabelli also wrote a large body of educational piano pieces, and this site features 32 of his works, including selections from his '28 Melodische Übungsstücke.'
