Description

This is the second movement of Sonatina No. 1 from "Jugendfreuden," and it is one of the largest pieces in the whole set, lasting about two minutes and forty-five seconds with 1,898 notes. For an educational movement, its density is unusually high, testing both the stamina to sustain concentration over a long span and the ability to shape changing moods along the way.

Compact piano works that teach sonata form on a smaller scale, often used as a stepping stone toward full-length sonatas.
