This is the first movement of Sonatina No. 2 from "Jugendfreuden." At about a minute long with a relatively light 584 notes, it has a cheerful, easygoing character. It is set at a more approachable level than Sonatina No. 1, suiting students moving from early intermediate toward intermediate playing.

Compact piano works that teach sonata form on a smaller scale, often used as a stepping stone toward full-length sonatas.
