English Suite No.1: Bourrée II BWV 806

Johann Sebastian Bach

DifficultyIntermediate
Duration0:47
Notes434

Description

This movement functions as a trio paired with Bourrée I, using a sparser texture and calmer character to provide contrast within the suite. Intermediate in level with modest length and note count, its simplicity makes the balance between voices and the sense of breathing all the more important to the overall effect.

Six suites by Bach known as the "English Suites," combining French elegance with technical brilliance.
