Description
This dance movement belongs to Bach's six-movement English Suite No. 1. The bourrée is a lively duple-meter dance of French origin, marked by a springy rhythm and refined melodic writing. Intermediate in level and brief in duration but with a fair note density, it calls for the characteristic rhythmic bounce of the dance combined with elegant, ornamented phrasing.
