Description
Among Beethoven's many piano miniatures, this is by far the most widely known. Written in rondo form, its gentle, singing main theme returns repeatedly in varied guises. Set at a beginner-friendly difficulty yet containing a fair number of notes for its length, it also serves as a popular study piece for smooth finger technique. The identity of "Elise" remains unresolved to this day.

Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827)
