Description
The January piece from The Seasons, a set Tchaikovsky wrote one month at a time for a magazine. As its Pushkin epigraph suggests, it depicts a peaceful evening by the fireside through a calm, nocturne-like melody. At just over four minutes, it suits intermediate players developing the ability to blend a singing right-hand line naturally with the left-hand accompaniment.
