Description
The August piece from The Seasons, portraying the vitality of the harvest season in the countryside. As suggested by its Koltsov epigraph, rapid passagework evokes busy field laborers, making it more technically demanding than several of the other months. At about five and a half minutes, it requires stamina and control to sustain fast figuration in both hands, suiting intermediate players.
