Menuet I comes from Handel's Aylesford Pieces and is often paired with the following Menuet II as its trio. Its dotted rhythms and clear three-part dance form typify Baroque keyboard minuets. The straightforward melodic writing makes it a good vehicle for intermediate players developing a feel for dance rhythm.
